This week, Mr. A’s fifth and sixth graders invited their reading buddies from grades one and two to play a Bible game based upon King Solomon entitled, “Wise or Foolish?” We followed up by talking more about the wisdom of King Solomon in chapel.
King David’s son, Solomon, built the temple for worship to God. The Lord appeared to him at night, saying, “Ask what I shall give you.”
King Solomon’s request for wisdom and knowledge to rule God’s people was pleasing. He received not only wisdom and knowledge, but also riches, wealth, and honor. When he prayed to dedicate the temple, Solomon asked that the Lord hear the prayers of the people, even if they had sinned, if they humbled their hearts in repentance.
When we are defeated, when we have sinned, if there is no rain, we determine to turn to the Lord, repent, humble our hearts, and have our prayers heard.
