On Friday, February 14, 2025, our school held a special chapel to honor the memory of our dear teacher and friend, Mrs. April Lincoln. Mrs. Lincoln passed away on January 30 due to complications following a stroke.
Chapel was opened with a song, “Blessed Be Your Name,” followed by prayer led by one of our student leaders, Emmanuel. Another leader, Hadassah, read Deuteronomy 31:8, “But Adonai is the One who will go ahead of you. He will be with you. He will not leave you or abandon you, so do not be afraid or downhearted.” Our superintendent, Dr. Mark Glenn, spoke to a larger-than-normal group which included K-12 students and families, several of the school board directors, church elders, and Mrs. Lincoln’s husband. He spoke about Mrs. Lincoln’s love for her students, “her babies,” and how, after many graduations in her life, her Heavenly Father had her graduate to His presence when He called her home. “Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him,” James 1:12.
Our hearts are broken at the loss of this wonderful teacher and friend. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family, that the comfort of the Lord is with them during this time.
