The North Valley Christian School Fall Festival was a great success! With rain falling for half the time of set-up, the blessing of the Lord was apparent as everyone joined together to celebrate our participation in Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child (OCC). Families packed more than 70 shoeboxes to donate to this worthy cause. The students enjoyed bounce houses, games, and refreshments, all provided by parents.
The highlight of the event was hearing from one mom who had received an OCC shoebox as a child in Madagascar. She described the delight and blessing she and her siblings felt as they each opened their gift box. It was a Christmas to remember, all because of donations from Christians around the world. As an adult, she was able to help distribute boxes in her country, and now has packed one to donate with her own child. What a miraculous way to experience this great cause from every perspective.
We took this opportunity to make everyone aware that our school community now has another prayer focus. During the week of our Thanksgiving break, our superintendent, Dr. Mark Glenn, will be ministering in Budapest, Hungary. He has been invited to train teachers who work with special needs children. He will visit synagogues and orphanages there, spending time with not only the teachers, but also the Ukrainian refugee children. We pray that his travel is uneventful and his time there effective, to the glory of our Father.
Thank you to all who packed and blessed a box! Thank you to all the parents for their efforts, and thank you to our school community. May we continue to be a light in the world, glorifying Him in everything we do.
