Chapel: Happy Valentine’s Day
Happy Valentine’s Day!
Grades 3 and 8 presented their Valentine’s Day hearts. It was wonderful to see their projects and hear their chosen Bible verses.
“With all my heart I have sought You;
Do not let me wander from Your commandments.” Psalm 119:10
“All that you do must be done in love.” 1 Corinthians 16:14
“But now faith, hope, and love remain, these three; but the greatest of these is love.” 1 Corinthians 13:13
From Grade 8 we heard:
“for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Matthew 6:21
“For the heart of this people has become dull,
With their ears they scarcely hear,
And they have closed their eyes,
Otherwise they might see with their eyes,
Hear with their ears,
Understand with their heart, and return,
And I would heal them.” Matthew 13:15.
Origins of the holiday:
It’s a bit hard to say how accurate it is, but it does make a good story!
We discussed how your heart has eyes on it; you can see with it! You can see who someone really is by listening to them with love in your heart. Through love, miracles can happen. You fall in love with God with your heart and He’ll open your eyes to Him. You’ll be able to see what He has in store for you. Follow your heart in your relationships.
