Chapel: Worship
North Valley Christian School has been talking about the Feast of Tabernacles over the past few weeks. As the Feast of Sukkot comes to a close, we celebrate a day of rejoicing. We rejoice in the love of the Lord!
A wonderful way to express that rejoicing is through worship. Worship is more than singing, although that’s a great way to start. Did you know God likes to play hide and seek? His love is like a flashlight in the night creating a spotlight. He is seeking worshippers. “Seek the Lord while He may be found; Call upon Him while He is near.” Isaiah 55:6-7. We have to find that spotlight. While we search for Him, He searches for us. We are in a joint relationship.
We know what we are looking for from God, but what is God looking for from us? “But an hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for such people the Father seeks to be His worshipers. God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” John 4:23-24.
He is looking for worshippers. Not just good-doers, church-goers, or A+ students. So, what is a worshipper? These are just some of the traits:
-Thinks on the Lord all day and all night
-Grateful, thankful
-Forgiving
-Helpful
-Obedient
-Loves others
God is looking for these types of people. It’s what you do with your heart and in your spirit. Let’s work to stay attuned with God to be ready at a moment’s notice for His call.
