New Principals Named for the 2017-2018 School Year
The Centers of Learning Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of two new principals. Beginning in the 2017/2018 school year, Margo Walkoe will serve as the Centers of Learning early childhood and elementary school principal, and Christa Eadson will serve as the principal of the junior and senior high.
Ms. Walkoe and Ms. Eadson have taught at our school and have been a part of the school leadership team for many years. Each of these outstanding teachers has a deep dedication to the founding vision of the school, and a commitment to see each of the students succeed in every aspect of their lives.
Margo Walkoe began her teaching career in San Diego after completing her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Liberal Studies from San Diego State University. She holds a California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential for preschool through adult. She joined Centers of Learning in Los Angeles in 1981 and served as principal from 1981 through 1991. After the birth of her daughter, she became the early childhood director and kindergarten teacher. Ms. Walkoe has been actively serving in the school administration alongside Ms. Grill, and is excited to return to her role as principal. She has dedicated her life to teaching and developing programs in which children can thrive in an atmosphere of love, faith, and kindness.
Christa Eadson holds a Bachelor of Arts in Education from Western Washington University, a Master of Education in Curriculum & Instruction from City University of Seattle and a California Multiple Subjects Teaching Credential. She taught 5th and 6th grades in Washington State before moving to Los Angeles and joining the Centers of Learning staff in 1998. Ms. Eadson has been teaching 7th through 12th grades for 19 years at Centers of Learning and has been integral in the leadership of the school, the development of the junior and senior high programs, and the mentorship of the student council. She will continue to apply the passion and energy that she has given to our junior high and infuse it into our entire secondary school.
This is an exciting transition in our administration and we look forward to continuing to develop our programs and growing our campus. The Board and all of the school staff cannot thank our current principal, Ms. Debra Grill, enough for her many dedicated years at Centers of Learning. We are grateful for her leadership and the deep care and love she expressed daily to the students, parents, and faculty.
