Wrapping Up the 2016-2017 School Year with Graduations
We wrapped up the 2016-2017 school year last week with graduation celebrations and ceremonies for Kindergarten, 6th grade, 8th grade and 12th grade.
Kindergarten students and parents gathered in the outdoor amphitheater Thursday evening for the Kindergartener’s end of year presentation and graduation. The students sang songs about places around the world, each student presented a mini report about a country and wore an outfit that represented their country. At the end of the presentation, Ms. Margo called up each student and handed them their diploma. These students will definitely miss Ms. Margo, but they are excited and prepared to take on first grade.
Kindergarten graduates: Isabela Castro, Max Clarke, Levi Court, Agnes Dawahare, Penelope Gagnon, Micah Mickelson, Annabelle Olaguez, Yashamrit Singh, Moises Zurita
The 6th grade promotion and celebration took place over brunch on Thursday morning at the Rayen Street Resort. The 5th graders, with some help, prepped yummy food before the 6th graders arrived with their guests. Once everyone was seated, Ms. Ginny Innis, the 5th and 6th grade teacher, had each of the graduates introduce their families and guests to the group. Ms. Innis called up each of the 6th graders and spoke about them before handing them their diploma. Each of the students gave a very sweet mini speech. Once all the guests had left, the celebration continued with pizza lunch and swimming! It was a wonderful way to finish up the school year and get ready for Jr. High.
6th grade graduates: Isabella Grillo, Amy Leiva, Khushi Patel, Ranniell Sarmiento, Stevie Seboldt
The 8th grade promotion celebration began Friday morning as the 7th graders made and hosted a breakfast for the 8th graders. Students enjoyed sharing fun memories from the year and a time of speaking blessings to one another. After breakfast, it was time for the graduation ceremony. A video collage of the class’ junior high years played as students and parents gathered in the sanctuary and then each student got to enter to their own song. Ms. Eadson spoke about each of the students before handing them their diploma and graduating them. The ceremony concluded with the viewing of a thank you video that the 8th grade class created.
8th grade graduates: Becket Bowz, Nicole Brewer, Madison Cziffer, Jessie Gallarza, Dylan Machal, Emme Miller, Elizabeth Raba
The high school graduation was Saturday afternoon. Centers of Learning’s class of 2017 graduates are: Mikey Cabral, Michael Campion, Sydney Day, Marcus Fernandez, Michael Green, Cecilia Grillo, Michael Hart, Madison Marasa, and Noah Ramirez. No matter the grade level, graduation is always a time of reflection and a wonderful way to celebrate the accomplishments each student has made that year. Congratulations to the many classes of 2017. Have a wonderful summer and we look forward to seeing everyone in August for the 2017-2018 school year!
